The Garuda Solar PV Project is a 5 MW (5,000 kW AC) grid-connected solar power plant located in Garuda, Rautahat, Nepal. Developed to expand Nepal's renewable energy infrastructure, the project harnesses solar power to generate clean, reliable electricity that is supplied directly to the national grid. The project is situated in an area with an average solar irradiation of 4.62 kWh/m²/day and an annual insolation of 1,675.25 kWh/m², providing favorable conditions for efficient photovoltaic energy production. Under these conditions, the plant is expected to generate approximately 9.80 million kWh of electricity each year, helping reduce reliance on fossil fuels while contributing to a cleaner and more resilient energy system.
Operating with a Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF) of 22.38%, the Garuda Solar PV Project demonstrates efficient energy conversion and dependable operational performance. The project operates under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) rate of NPR 5.31 per kWh, generating an estimated annual revenue of approximately NPR 5.20 crore.
